Diaphragm Pumps

In our portfolio you will find miniature diaphragm pumps for air, gases and liquids which transport the target media through the generation of pressure or vacuum. We have at our disposal many years of experience and offer our customers a wide range of motors and materials to meet specific customer needs.

For gases we offer 19 different platforms with a performance spectrum from 0.5 to 62.0 l/min. Many models are compact and versatile for a variety of applications. They additionally have the features of low vibration and sound levels.

What are Diaphragm Pumps?

Diaphragm pumps are devices which are used to transport liquids or gases and function in a similar way to a piston pump. However, the transported gas or liquid within a diaphragm pump is separated from the driving mechanism by a diaphragm.

In this way, the driving mechanism is protected by the built-in diaphragm from contamination by the transported media. This, for example, is important in markets such as the food and environmental industries. Depending on the design of the pump, the diaphragm is set in motion through a hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical or electromechanical drive.

Diaphragm Pumps for Liquids

We offer diaphragm pumps for liquids through 6 platforms with a performance range from 150 ml/min to 3.4 l/min. Most diaphragm pumps can transport liquids, gases or a mixture of both. Our technologies are suitable for vacuum to 8.0 m water suction height and pressure to approximately 3.0 bar. Diaphragm pumps for liquids are used in chemical and biochemical analyser systems. Additionally, they can be used in liquid dosing and wastewater analysers.

When selecting a suitable diaphragm pump, it is necessary to pay attention to the lifetime required of the planned application. Some system run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Others just for a few seconds per day. The cost of a diaphragm pump depends highly on the choice of motor, since this is generally the most expensive component within the diaphragm pump. For a low-cost model an iron core motor is generally used which normally has a correspondingly reduced lifetime. For higher life models, often a core-less or brushless is the motor of choice.
